About St Lucia
The majority of the villas within our St Lucia villa rental portfolio are located on the Cap Estate, a large residential development at the very northern tip of the island, which has luxury homes for holiday rentals, others purely residential. Most have stunning views of the surrounding tropical landscape from the grounds including Pigeon Island National Park, a forty four acre National Trust reserve which is connected to the mainland by a man-made causeway.
Causeway Beach, has two stretches of white sand and leads to Pigeon Island National Park and the northern area of the beach has a picnic area and is a focal meeting place for the local St Lucians on the weekends and bank holidays. In the park there are 18th century military ruins at Fort Rodney, a restaurant featuring local cuisine, a historical themed pub and restaurant, and if you take the hike up the hill to the lookout point at the top the views stretch right across to Reduit Beach.
Reduit Beach, is the most popular long stretch of soft sandy beach, with hotels and a variety of water-sports available, including water skiing, parasailing, jet ski, sunfish and hobie cat sailing. Pigeon Point (as it is often called) is the main venue of the annual St Lucia Jazz Festival, held each year May, which attracts a host of international stars. A ferry runs between the island and Rodney Bay on an hourly schedule. Across the bay from Pigeon Point, is Rodney Bay, the busiest tourist area, where there are hotels, good restaurants and bars, a shopping mall, banks, mini marts and supermarkets and a variety of very lively nightlife and a busy marina.
The local village of Gros Islet hosts the now famous Friday Night Jump Up, an all night street party to sample the local music and some tasty delights.
Castries the capital and George F L Charles Airport (formerly known as Vigie) which receives inter-island flights only, The main internation aiport is Hewannorra in in the South of the island.
