From its extraordinary hilltop location, panoramic sea views, seven acres of mature gardens, Mexican and Brazilian influenced architecture and sophisticated Caribbean designs, exceptional service levels and facilities, Yemanja is simply paradise for those seeking the perfect private island retreat for family holidays and gatherings on the stunning island of Mustique.
Designed by Mexican architect Manolo Mestre in 2004, Yemanja (meaning Goddess of the Sea), encompasses several levels with intricate pathways of pretty stonework, tropical gardens and terraces, all leading to the central focal point of the villa – a magnificent Mexican Palapa with a roof seemingly reaching for the stars. Furnished beautifully throughout, the Palapa, with its sublime swimming pool, serves as a place of relaxation, al Fresco lunches, a gathering spot for sunset cocktails and fine dinners.
Yemanja is a treat for all ages with multiple levels featuring secluded hideaways, quiet areas for reading, cosy afternoon teas or simply enjoying the views over splendid Macaroni Beach. The whole estate is a wonderful playground for children and active guests who can enjoy the two swimming pools, the private tennis court, media room and playroom. Spa treatments can be arranged in villa as well as yoga.
Accommodation includes 5 bedrooms in the main house, all King size (with one that converts to a Twin), en-suite shower rooms, superbly decorated to the highest quality with fine linens and gorgeous fabrics and furnishings in fresh Caribbean living colours.
The 3-bedroom cottage at Yemanja is an ideal enclave for extra guests and extended family, a retreat on its own with 2 King and 1 Twin bedded bedroom, all with en-suite shower rooms and the same quality as the main house. A smaller “Palapita” and its own lap pool means perfect privacy and guests can also dine here with lovely breakfasts on the terrace from the kitchen. Full media is also included with TV and a music system.
Children are well catered for with their Children’s Bunk Houses – two separate houses with bunk beds that can accommodate up to 16 children plus separate nannies rooms.
Mustique is one of the most exclusive private islands in the world with a fabulous variety of sports and leisure activities that the resident staff of Yemanja can arrange for their guests such as the famous island picnics at Macaroni Beach, Lagoon or Pasture Bay, join fellow guests at the tennis club for some fun tournaments, explore the island by horseback, or experience the incredible undersea world through the Mustique Watersports Centre. Take one of the Kawasaki mules included with the villa and drive freely around the island marvelling at its picturesque terrain and uninterrupted views of the heavenly seas and outer Grenadine Islands.
